I am an active man in my late 60’s living in Cape Town. I have been happily married close on 40 years and have two wonderful adult children (and an equally wonderful son-in-law) and two young grandchildren that I love to bits (Joshua is five and Ella is two and a half).
I retired from business in June 2016 after managing a medium sized successful business (PRES LES) for twenty five years. Retirement rocks!!
I was ordained into the permanent deaconate in the Catholic Church in 2000 and am actively involved in the parish I serve (St Michael’s, Rondebosch); preaching, teaching, counselling, etc.
My passions and interests include travelling; music (wide range of genres from classical to metal); keeping fit (gym, swim or walk on the mountain almost daily); hiking (has been a real blessing over the last few years to tackle one major hike each year with my son – Kilimanjaro, Annapurna mountains in Nepal, Val d’Anniviers in Switzerland, Mont Blanc), the bush (my wife and I like to spend at least a week each year ‘on safari’ – our favourite place for many years was South Luangwa in Zambia but after visiting Madikwe last year that’s our easiest goto option); reading (wide range from theology to thriller).
