The Camino
The Way of St. James was one of the most important Christian pilgrimages during the Middle Ages, together with those to Rome and Jerusalem. The Camino Primitivo is the most challenging of all the Camino de Santiago but also the most scenically beautiful. This is “The Original “Way taken by King Alphonse “The Chaste” (760 – 842) who lead the first pilgrimage to Santiago de Compestela and played a decisive role in confirming that the remains unearthed there in 814 did indeed belong to the Apostle Saint James.
